Batavia Pinners Wrestling Club

About the Pinners

The Batavia Pinners Wrestling Club is an exciting program for youngsters who want to learn wrestling skills through a fun and competitive program.  The program started in 1993 with 12 wrestlers on the roster.  This program has grown over the years to become one of the finest youth wrestling programs in the state.  Wrestlers who participate in the Pinners program can expect to learn a variety of takedowns, pinning combinations, reversals and escapes.  In addition to the technical instruction, participants will increase strength, conditioning, agility, flexibility and self-confidence.

The Batavia Pinners Wrestling program is designed in a way that the beginner as well as the most elite wrestlers can succeed.  Depending on ability and desire, wrestlers can choose to attend as few or as many tournaments as they wish.  The coaches help evaluate each individual wrestler and make suggestions as to the number of tournaments they should attend.  The team will travel to area tournaments on weekends and compete against other teams.  Individuals will compete against other youngsters who are the same age and weight.  The beginner and advanced wrestlers practice on different nights so the instruction can be modified to suit the needs of the participants.  All coaches in the Batavia Pinners Wrestling program are positive and promote and expect good sportsmanship.
